Perfekt is Perfect!

I recently received a set of samples from Perfekt.  The packaging was so pretty that I didn't want to take it apart!

How Cute is This???

When I received this adorable kit, I decided to put it to the test.  Not only did I want to wear it for a date with my gorgeous guy, we took the motorcycle. ;)  Talk about really putting new products to the test!  It had to outlast dinner and wind/high speeds.

The skin perfection gel is simply amazing!  Have you ever used Porefessional or a similar product that makes your pores disappear and leaves your skin feeling like silk?  Well this product does just that, but in my opinion, it outdoes PoreFessional (which was my previous fave).  I love that there are different options for shades.  This little blister was enough to last two days.  I wore it under foundation for my date and alone as my foundation for work.

The next product is the Brow Perfection Gel.

I am super impressed with this gel as well.  I was expecting a clear gel with a small brush, but this actually has a brownish hue.  I am currently trying to grow my eyebrows out a little in the middle after someone got wax happy with my brows.  I used this gel in combination with a brow pencil and it blended perfectly!  You could not even tell that the middle was a bit "drawn on."  I love it!

This miracle product is the Lash Perfection Gel.

I was most excited to try this product.  I heard rave reviews from those who received it in their Birchbox and I had to see what the fuss was about.  This mascara makes your lashes look SOOOO much longer while seperating each lash.  It is long lasting, but is easily removed with eye makeup remover.  I already have a full size of this in my cart at Birchbox!

Check out this gorgeous lip color!

This is the Lip Perfection Gel in Melrose.  My favorite part of this lip gloss (besides the color) is the peppermint taste!  My breath even felt fresher after applying this gloss!  I used a lip brush to apply and it lasted for two applications.  This gloss stayed put, even after eating.  It was so smoothing and I wanted to lick my lips the whole time!

I also received a body perfection gel that I think I am going to hold onto for a special occasion.  I do believe that I have found a new favorite brand.  I am so glad that I was able to test these products to share with you.  I see a Perfekt haul in the near future! ;)

Beauty Army August

Beauty Army- What can I say?  I have opted to skip the last 3 months and only had this month shipped because they FINALLY offered some decent samples that I had not already tried.  The problem with Beauty Army is that they tend to circulate the same products until you get down to perfume vials and foil packets.  They claim to put out new products daily, but I have yet to see that happen.  I am very curious to see how September goes.  If it is another skip month, I am just going to go ahead and cancel.  I would rather stick to a few boxes I love and can count on each month.  Here is what I picked:

Birchbox August

This month seemed to be everyone's least favorite month for Birchbox.  I think they have spoiled us so much that even a great box looks bad in comparison to the fantastic ones we usually receive.  I think if every month were like this one, I would not love it as much as I do, though.

Viva La Juicy Fleur smells SOOOOO good!  I have worn this every day since I got the box and I still have half a tube left.  It goes a long way- much longer than I had thought.

The Stila card was a big bummer.  The picture online showed a product in a tube, but these cards came in shades that I was unable to use and would have only been one time use anyway (it is a three step foundation routine- hello high maintenance)!

The Wei products came with no instructions, so I wasted one of the packets.  You are supposed to add it to your cleanser to create an exfoliant.  I applied the crap straight to my face while in the bathtub.  Here comes the disaster.  First of all- OUCH!!!  That stuff was R-O-U-G-H!  Then all those grains sank to the bottom of the tub where I was unable to get comfortable.  So I get out of the tub and that crap stuck to me like I had just laid out on a beach all day without a towel!  Grrrr!!!!  I was NOT a happy camper!

The Wei mud mask on the other hand was very soothing.  I really enjoyed it!

The Schick razor was a great bonus!  It is currently my favorite razor and although I already own about 6-7, I can always use a spare! ;)

Finally, the Q-tip box was actually cuticle oil.  You break one end and the product flows to the bottom.  Then you apply the oil to your nails.  It was pretty neat, but I hate the feeling of the oil on my hands, so this was also a gift to my future-mother-in-law.

I did purchase the Q-tip lip quenchers and love them.  I bought them so that my order would ship free and they were totally worth it.  They condition with a hint of tint.  Perfect for on the go!

Glossybox August

I am a little on the fence about Glossybox. At $21 per month, I feel like I should adore at least MOST of the products. Although they are alright, I am not exacly loving them. I think I would rather spend the $21 on products I know that I will love. Here is what my box looked like:

The Senna Lipgloss was DISGUSTING!  It was a thick sticky mess and I know I am not the only one out there who would have no problem tossing out.  Sounds brutal, but true!

The Senna Eyeshadow, on the other hand, was very pretty and something I may actually use.

I was very excited about the Fig and Rouge balm, but it was actually a very gritty substance that just left my lips feeling a bit greasy.  I hate to be disappointed when I was really looking forward to a product!

The Pedix Feet was nice.  I would not have chosen it for a box, but it ended up being one of my favorite items this month from a lack of better choices.

I was SOOOO excited to try the Sebastian shampoo and conditioner.  I did not like the shampoo, but the conditioner is really cool.  One pump lets out a golf ball sized foam ball.  Pretty neat!  It did not leave my hair feeling silky smooth, though. :(

Sample Society August

This was reall a pretty decent Sample Society box this month.  I had actually cancelled, but they sent me this box by mistake (I was not charged).  I think they did that on purpose to woo me back ;)  It may just worked!

The Jane Iredale mascara was neat, but practically dried up.  I think I got two uses out of it.  I do like the idea of a tube, though.

The Phyto Hair Oil was new to me.  You actually apply it BEFORE you wash your hair.  I sort of like that idea because I am not leaving the oil sitting in my hair.  This was a decent sized sample, but the box was twice the size of the bottle, which was misleading.

I think my favorite item was the Cranberry toner because I was running out of the toner I have been using ;)  It isn't something I would buy in the future, but it was a nice fill in until I can get another bottle of my regular brand.

I think the crowd favorite was the Deborah Lippman nail polish.  I would have loved this if it were in a pink shade.  The good thing is that my boyfriend's mom loves to paint her nails and her favorite color is purple, so this made the perfect "just because" gift for a special lady!

MyGlam July

Here is what I got in my MyGlam August bag.  LOVE!

First of all, the bag is to die for!  I actually traded on makeuptalk.com to get another.  It is mesh so it is perfect for the beach and see through so it is easy to find your favorites.

The Nu Me Hydro Punch conditioner smells FABULOUS.  I am not sure if the conditioner itself works better than the products I currently use, but I do love it for the pleasant scent.

Kiehl's Moisturizer- I am really not a fan.  It is not a bad product, I just don't see what the big fuss is about.  It works the same as other products I have used.

My favorite item?  The Josie Maran lip stain!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!  It is a very pretty shade that lasts and lasts.  Not only that, it doesn't leave your lips feeling terribly dry like other stains.

So even with the white polish that I will never use, I think this bag is a keeper! ;)

Beauty Box 5 August

I am starting to fall more and more in love with Beauty Box 5!  They are really stepping up to the plate in terms of service and products!  Here is what I received in my August box!

The Spongeables is an amazing product!  All you have to do it get it wet.  One side is rough and will exfoliate your feet and the other side is soft and gently cleanses your feet.  the perfect pedicure in one tool.  It made my feet super soft!

I am also loving the Blinc products that they send.  I won't use any other mascara until mine runs out!

Beauty Box Swap Reveal!

Hello ladies!  I have participated in yet another blog swap and this one was one of my favorites!  Tiffany at Blabbering Thoughts was the gracious host!

My lucky butt received a delightful package from Megan of Shaping Up To Be A Mom!  I was tickled to death with the packaging, but with a dead camera and NO PATIENCE, I had to open it before I got a picture!  She hand wrapped each item in tissue paper and tied it with ribbon!  How fun!  She picked out some great products that I have been dying to try!  Here is what I got:

Isn't the card adorable??  I am in love with all of the Ulta products!  Check out the neat close up of the brush on the mascara wand (bottom middle photo).  At first I was nervous about the color of the eye crayon, but it blends so nicely that I have used it every day since!  Oh, and who doesn't love some flat iron spray? ;)

The Caress body wash is also a favorite.  Everytime I see it at Wal Mart, I debate picking up a bottle, but always decide not to because I am trying not to spend money on products I already have until I run out (you should see my stash)!  I am so excited that it was in the package because now I get to try it guilt free!  The scent is heavenly and I love the shimmer!

Finally, take a look at those cute earrings!  LOVE <3!!

Thanks so much Megan for the amazing box and to Tiffany for hosting!  I can't wait until the next one comes along!

What Happens in Nashville...

Ok, so I know I have never posted anything too personal on this blog, but I had the privilege of meeting some of the most amazing people this week, and I jokingly told them I was going to write a blog post about the experience.  Even though I was just teasing, they asked to see the post.  So although this is not a typical post for me, I can't wait to share this experience with you.

I was granted a wonderful opportunity to tour in Nashville for free for 3 days and 2 nights (all inclusive) with a friend as part of a FAM group- basically showing us what it would be like if we took students to Nashville.  My friend and I were the Kentucky girls and there were also people (a mix of teachers and their family/friends) from Florida and South Carolina.  Little did I know that in these few short days I would create some of my most hilarious memories.

The "fancy" crew from Florida hit it off with us Kentucky girls, so we decided to hit up the "Honky Tonks" together our last night.  There was a beautiful girl named Keri who was celebrating her birthday that night and let's just say that we closed Nashville down in her honor.  I never thought I would meet people from Florida who wore boots and knew every word to Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show.  I love when people break stereotypes!

So what all did we get to do?  Oh, only go backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, record a CD at RCA Studio B where Elvis recorded most of his songs, get to hear Lorrie Morgan and Love and Theft (among others) perform live, break the rules by touching things at the Bellemeade Plantation, get front door service at the zoo, get tons of goodies, learn some new line dances at the Wildhorse Saloon, do a little wine tasting, visit the CMT Hall of Fame, and create about 20 inside jokes that you would never understand (such as I hope to never pull an "Alex." I would explain, but then it would no longer be an inside joke).

So here's to some of my new friends Keri, Drew, Adam, and Alex.  Thanks for the million laughs (no matter how loud) and for proving my theory of those from Florida wrong!  I really hope that next summer we are able to do it again.  Keri- I am serious about the visiting thing!  I feel like a loser saying that I was actually really sad to leave today.  I didn't think I would bond with people I only spent a few days with.  I am even going to miss our peppy tour guide, Ashley... I mean Amy!  I guess this just proves that you are never too old to have fun!

P.S. Did you know that you can get Krispy Kreme donuts for autographs?  Who would have thought?! ;)
