Oscar de la Renta Live in Love perfume
Value $5.80
This cute little bottle of perfume actually smells quite nice. I liked the last perfume they sent from Oscar de la Renta as well, although many did not care for it. This one seems to be receiving better reviews as it has a more floral scent.
Caudalie The Eye Cream (Yes, it is called The Eye Cream)
Value $5.59
I loved the hand cream from Caudalie that I received in my Birchbox, so I am willing to give this a shot. I am always smiling and laughing, so any eye creams are welcome in my house! I wish it was a little bigger, though. I am thinking this is a little like the Dr. Jart tubes that look to be a decent size, but has very little product inside. I used it last night and it is a medium consistency that spreads easily.
Murad Clarifying Cleanser
Value $7.70
This is a very decent sized deluxe sample at 2 oz. You certainly are given enough product to discover whether or not it is a fit for you. I have used this line before, but did not see a significant difference in my blemishes. The cleanser was very effective at removing makeup, though. It is also very gentle. I am debating on whether I want to keep this for myself when I travel or give it up in trade or giveaway.
Bamboo Style Boho Waves
Value $4.45
I am not a major fan of the Bamboo products I have tried by Alterna. The oils I have tried have made my hair really greasy- to the point I have had to rewash it after blow drying. I am sure the oil products would be great for dry, damaged hair, but on my already oily scalp it was a definite no go. I AM very excited to try this product, though. I know that Alterna is a great company, I just had not found the right product for me. Sometimes when I wake up late, I like to scrunch my hair and this leave in would be perfect. It also smells great! I also love that the sample is big enough for travel and to find out if it is worth purchasing in the future.
Jane Iredale Just Kissed Plumper
Value $? (The size of the sample is not provided)
This sample, to me, was kind of so so. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. You certainly feel the tingle when you apply it, but I don't think it makes a significant difference in the fullness of your lips. I am also not a huge fan of the color. It is pretty, but not something I would wear often.
The sample was very small (but hey, at least it was not a blister packet sample). Here is is beside my new EOS lipbalm (which will be featured in an upcoming blog swap post). Good thing I like miniature things! :)
Since Sample Society is a little more expensive than other subscription services at $15 per month, I am not certain if it is one of my favorites anymore. I know that the value certainly exceeds the cost, but I just wish that they at least offered a point or referral reward system. They do make donations when you refer someone to their site, though. I will certainly keep this subscription around as a beauty blogger, but I feel that several of their customers will cancel. Their subscriptions were closed and they are opened back up, so I wonder if it is a result of people leaving. They do get props from me for being so versatile!
