My Goodies
The Insert Card
This is very informative and I love that it includes the prices and sizes of the products.
Everything was wrapped in this sheer drawstring bag.
Blinc Eyeliner
Value $2.48
I LOVE Blinc! I received the mascara in Birchbox and fell in love. The mascara was really neat because it did not smudge whatsoever and when you removed it, it kind of peeled off. I did not even have to use eye makeup remover. I loved it so much that of course I ordered the full size with bonus points. Today I am rocking both the eyeliner and mascara together. The sample brush was a little difficult to use, but it glided on easily and dried quickly. Yes, I am VERY positive that this combination will be a part of my new daily routine.
Blum Naturals Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues
Value $2.99
This is a full size product. I love the packaging, but this is probably my least favorite product in the box because my face does not tend to get oily. I states that it does not take your makeup off, but I tried them out not long after applying my makeup, and it did come off a little on the sheet. These are neat to have to throw in a beach bag.
Everyday Minerals Girl Friday Blush
Value $10.99
I ADORE this blush! You can ask anyone who knows me, I am NOT a blush girl. In fact, I even just discussed this with my cousin yesterday over lunch. I never know how to apply it correctly, so I am a bit scared of it. I decided to try this out today and loved it! The shade is really light and pretty. It is not a bold color and blends very well, which is a necessary for me. I think I am in love!
Check out the cute card that came with the blush! It came with a coupon code and an adorable little illustration for how to use the blush.
Comodynes Urban Cosmetics Easy Peeling Towelette
Value $1.62
I really like this brand, so I was happy to see this sample. I tried it out today before applying my makeup. The towelette has 2 sides- one is for scrubbing and the other is soothing. The scrubbing side felt like I was having a mini microdermabrasion facial. It wasn't too harsh, but I could tell my complexion would have a nice glow when I finished. Then I used the smooth side and I felt like I was in heaven! The scent is wonderful and it really did soothe my skin after the scrubbing. I think I wiped my face for a full five minutes! Haha. The only pet peeve of mine is that it was just a tad bit sticky after I finished (you are not supposed to rinse your face afterward). The solution? I just dabbed on a bit of moisturizer (Sephora Instant Moisture is my fave) and I was good to go! Yes, my complexion was glowing :)
Here is a close up of the "scrubbing" side of the towelette.
The All Natural Face Vegan Mineral Eyeshadow
Value $3.50
I have a cousin who is vegan and I usually put aside all of my vegan samples for her. This one is SO gorgeous that I just have to keep it for myself (sorry, Jen)! The good part? They are so cheap that we can just order some more (and I WILL be purchasing more colors soon). I wore this today along with my Blinc products and new blush. I know I throw the word love around a lot, but I really did LOVE the look! This eyeshadow is very sparkly, light, and pretty. It even included this neat applicator.
The eyeshadow included a coupon code as well. I just wonder why they didn't reprint the coupon instead of (incorrectly) fixing the dates on the bottom. Surely reprinting would have been less time consuming and wouldn't have cost that much money. Oh well! I appreciate the discount!
I can't say enough how excited I am with this box. Minus the foundation and mascara, these products are all I need for a pretty summer look. I love that I was introduced to new products and that they were all very high quality. Props to Beauty Box 5 for finding smaller businesses to promote. I can't wait until next month!
Is it terrible of me that I no longer place value of the quality and variety of samples, but rather the monetary value of the content? Even when I get a box like that with a lot of unique samples, I would be somewhat bummed that the the worth is only $21... when what I expect is $30+. One of the companies in Canada caught on to the fact the focus isn't about sampling any more so they turned their monthly box into a seasonal one. Anyways, well written review, I'm really glad you enjoyed your goodies!

It looks like BB5 is definitely stepping up their game! I'm glad to see that. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, as long as my monetary value is at least even with the box cost, I'm happy. To me the whole point is to try new stuff. It's a SAMPLING program so we can sample stuff before making the investment. I'm not in it to score a huge deal, I just want to get to try a wide variety of products.
